God has an ultimate purpose for us. Simply put, he wants to shape our character to make us like Jesus Christ.
This purpose supersedes every other work that God has given us. All other responsibilities that we have in the church or in the corporate world are secondary. They are supposed to help us to be shaped into the image of Jesus Christ.
We are therefore in a journey of becoming.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
God’s call is not simply his invitation to people to embrace the gospel, but his effectual summoning of people into a relationship with himself. This calling takes place according to God’s purpose: to conform us to the likeness of His Son.
We are in a journey of growth. We may have had several failures in this journey but, today, we are being called to the realization that God is still summoning us and calling us to be shaped into Christlikeness. Let us therefore answer this call and accept God’s instruction to shape our character into Christlikeness.
God bless you!
